ProGraphx map formats

Hi Frenkel. I'm just looking at Crystal Caves Map Format, Secret Agent Level Format and Dark Ages Map Format, and wondering whether it would be possible to write a single level reader/writer that could handle all three formats. What do you think? The major differences I can think of are that SA can have multiple layers and the background can be set in the level file itself, but is that all the differences? I'm just thinking that given the complexity of mapping codes to tile images, maybe that code could be shared between the map formats, with just a different list of tile mappings for each game. Any thoughts? -- Malvineous (talk) 09:55, 11 August 2013 (GMT)

What about the Duke 1 Level Format? Does it also need a special tile mapping algorithm? I haven't checked that. But I do know that just like Dark Ages it has only one plane and that every special/enemy tile uses the tile before/after/above it as its background.
Oh, and the Crystal Caves Map Format is just weird :).Frenkel (talk) 20:40, 14 August 2013 (GMT)
