An Apel in Keen Dreams
Apels[1] are apelike creatures (in that they walk on their knuckles) found in Apple Acres in Tuberia in Keen Dreams. They can climb up and down poles and will follow Keen if they can, hoping to knock him off as they climb much faster than he does.
The spelling of the name is "Apel" according to the game's help text. However, only the earliest version of the game actually contains this help text, causing several websites to invent their own names for creatures, such as "Apple" for this one. Said in-game help states of the Apels:
